What Zairoo stores, why, and the control you have.

The short version

Zairoo stores only what it needs to run a chat app: your account details, your profile, and your messages. We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not use your content to train anything.

What we store

• Account: your email address, your username, and a securely hashed version of your password (we never store the password itself).
• Profile: your display name, your bio, and your profile picture if you add one.
• Messages: the messages you send and receive, so they can be delivered and shown in your chats.
• Session: a signed cookie that keeps you logged in.
• Notifications: if you turn on notifications, your browser gives us a push subscription — an address plus two public keys. It contains no personal information and is used only to deliver your notifications.

How we use it

• to create and secure your account;
• to show your profile and deliver your messages;
• to send you a notification when you have a new message (only if you enabled it).

What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent your personal data.
• We do not show advertising or use ad trackers.
• We do not read your messages for marketing, and we do not use them to train AI models.
• We do not ask for your contacts, your location, or your phone number.

Cookies

Zairoo uses one cookie: a session cookie that keeps you signed in. It is marked HttpOnly and Secure. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

Where your data lives

Accounts, profiles and messages are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database and served through Cloudflare's network. Access is limited to what the application needs to function.

Keeping it safe

Passwords are stored as salted hashes, not plain text. Sessions use a random, signed cookie. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

Retention and deletion

Your data stays while your account exists. If you would like your account and its data removed, ask us and we will delete it.

Children

Zairoo is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

We may update this policy. The “last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
